Our cellar

The Aja agricultural company was acquired in 1979 from the brothers Angelo and Ugo Contrino.
Coming from Milan, both engineers, they were left amazed by the extraordinary beauty of the places visited for professional reasons, they undertook a project that has fascinated and involved them for almost four decades.

All wines are the result of a careful manual harvest of the grapes, of the fermentation started with a Pied de cuve (natural), of long macerations, manual pumpover and marc pressing. Long aging in wood and/or concrete that creates a strong confidentiality of our wines with air and oxygen keystone in the classic style.

Radda in Chianti is a diamond inside the Chianti Classico, wines of great territorial nature, elegant and mineral are produced there.
Highlighting a heritage of old vines to which, over the years, new plots of ground have been added, Chianti Classico is produced in 3 farms (Spanda, Aia and Chielle) that surround Radda in Chianti at 500m of height.

Both in the cellar and the vineyards we have always operated with respect of our grounds, of our air and our plants, from 2017 we have started the procedures in order to officially certify our modus operandi for organic certification.
In order to treat in the best way our grapes with the aim of obtaining high-end wines, the wine cellar has been widened, restructured and supplied with modern systems in 2009.
