An abandoned vineyard for Lumiluna is a vineyard to be recovered; for this reason we call ourselves "vineyard restorers", because in the midst of the many abandoned rows of our territory we have found vines, stories, genetic heritages and signs of man. The winery is located in Mercatello, just south of Perugia; since 2015 we have been hunting for abandoned vineyards to bring them back to new life, rediscovering and enhancing almost forgotten and endangered vines; the roots of a 50-year-old vine give the grapes a unique, particular, important history. For the "younger" vines we have chosen vines that represent the winemaking tradition of our territory: Grechetto, Trebbiano and Sangiovese; angular, hard and strong vines that reflect the character of us Umbrians, but if they are worked with patience and passion they can be transformed into elegant, generous wines with a unique style. The first harvest by Lumiluna dates back to 2018 and from the processing of these grapes are born Diciannove, Casale dei Ceci and Rio dello Spineto, our three bottled wines; we are Giulio (Rinaldi) and Luca (Bigicchia); we restore vineyards and make wine.
