The Cantina Sociale di Quistello was founded in 1928 by a group of winegrowers who until then sold the grapes as they were in order to achieve the common goal of transformation into wine.
It has an average annual contribution of 50,000 quintals of grapes, produced by 160 members. The production area expands along the banks of the river Secchia, in that part of the province of Mantua that vain ancient viticultural and gastronomic traditions. All members follow guided integrated pest management systems with low environmental impact in order to guarantee the genuineness of the product. All stages of processing, from the delivery of the grapes to the marketing of the wine in bottles or demijohns, are carried out internally in the name of autonomy for the optimization of the quality-price ratio.
The Quistellese company is ISO 9001:2015 certified to support the quality of both the production and administrative process and the traceability of the materials that contribute to obtaining the finished product.
Working on single-vine Lambrusco is not common. The two "80 Vendemmie", dark or pinkish, the latter with a particular "bright tropea onion" colour, were born from studies on the single grape variety. The productive dimensions of the cooperative allow the containment of costs and the entrance on the market with an excellent quality/price ratio.
