The company Di Giovanna is run by brothers Gunther and Klaus. The winery is located in the mountains, on the slopes of Monte Genuardo, a protected nature reserve.
The family vineyards are organically grown between Sambuca di Sicilia and Contessa Entellina, in the heart of western Sicily.
The property covers almost 100 hectares and consists of 65 hectares of vineyards, 14 hectares of olive groves, 21 hectares of wheat fields and forests.
The five estates of the family (Miccina, Gerbino, Paradiso, San Giacomo and Fiuminello) are located in the small DOC of Contessa Entellina and Sambuca di Sicilia, in the heart of Terre Sicane.
The vineyards Miccina, Gerbino and Paradiso are located at an average altitude between 350 and 480 meters above sea level, in the Contessa Entellina area.
The San Giacomo and Fiuminello vineyards (680-830 metres above sea level) climb the slopes of Monte Genuardo and surround the winery.
The new vineyards, after careful micro-pedoclimatic studies, have been planted choosing international and autochthonous varieties.
The white varieties include Chardonnay, Grillo and Viognier. The red ones: Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Syrah.

The estate's vineyards grow high in the hills, in the small DOC of Contessa Entellina, where the family has been growing Nero d'Avola for 5 generations. Guests enjoy a guided tour of the estate's vineyards and winery, followed by a tasting of a selection of 3 white and rosé wines, followed by the vertical Vurria Nero d'Avola tasting. The wines are paired with fresh bread, Gerbino organic EVOO, a selection of local cheeses, cured meats and Sicilian gourmet products.
