Our farm is located in Bacchereto, whose name derives from the Roman divinity "Bacco" in virtue of the qualities of the land and the advantageous sun exposure that boasted these lands.
We are located on the green and historical hills of Montalbano, between 180 and 300 meters above sea level, in a scenario that extends around Carmignano, between Florence (25 km), Prato (15 km), and Pistoia (18 km), at 10km from Vinci.
The farm in the 1400s was a small hunting lodge that was part of the Medici Hunting Estate, which they considered convenient during their wisecracks to move to Bacchereto at the foot of the forest: even today, in fact, inside the Farm are clearly visible some remains of the fence wall of the famous Royal Park, then called Barco. At the end of 1700, when the dynasty was extinct, the Medici's property was divided and passed to other owners. This hunting lodge with the surrounding land and a large part of the forest passed to the noble Banci di Prato family, who enlarged it giving it the current structure of a villa-farm: the company was run by a woman, Annunziata Banci, who is still buried in the chapel of the Farm, and which built many farmhouses and enlarged the business center. After 1860 the property passed to the Barone Franchetti family, and the company was still managed by a woman, Luisa Franchetti. Since 1920 it belongs to the Bencini Tesi family, current conductors.
