Vino rosso DOC

Fattoria di Bacchereto's Carmignano is a structured and energetic red wine. Powerful and concentrated, it has great ageing potential, expressing the elegance of Sangiovese over time. Vinification includes destemming, maceration and alcoholic fermentation for 15 days in vitrified cement vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in wood. Ageing takes place in 350 l Allier oak tonneaux on the fine lees for 26 months, plus at least 6 months in bottle.

Why choose it:

Authenticity: Produced using biodynamic methods, it reflects the characteristics of the ancient Carmignano appellation.
Artisanal Quality: Production without chemical adjuvants preserves the organoleptic nuances of the grapes.
Aromatic Complexity: Ageing in Allier oak develops depth without overpowering the natural aromas.
Versatility: Excellent as an aperitif or with game, cured meats and mature cheeses.
Choose Carmignano 'Terre a Mano' for an oenological experience that combines history, tradition and quality in every sip.

Host information

Our farm is located in Bacchereto, whose name derives from the Roman divinity "Bacco" in virtue of the qualities of the land and the advantageous sun exposure that boasted these lands.

We are located on the green and historical hills of Montalbano, between 180 and 300 meters above sea level, in a scenario that extends around Carmignano, between Florence (25 km), Prato (15 km), and Pistoia (18 km), at 10km from Vinci.

The farm in the 1400s was a small hunting lodge that was part of the Medici Hunting Estate, which they considered convenient during their wisecracks to move to Bacchereto at the foot of the forest: even today, in fact, inside the Farm are clearly visible some remains of the fence wall of the famous Royal Park, then called Barco. At the end of 1700, when the dynasty was extinct, the Medici's property was divided and passed to other owners. This hunting lodge with the surrounding land and a large part of the forest passed to the noble Banci di Prato family, who enlarged it giving it the current structure of a villa-farm: the company was run by a woman, Annunziata Banci, who is still buried in the chapel of the Farm, and which built many farmhouses and enlarged the business center. After 1860 the property passed to the Barone Franchetti family, and the company was still managed by a woman, Luisa Franchetti. Since 1920 it belongs to the Bencini Tesi family, current conductors.

I can't say enough about how great the tasting was here! Fantastic wines (white, red and vin santo) and a thorough and interesting tour of the buildings and vineyards. We were made to feel at home during the tasting and couldn't resist taking away a bottle of our favourite wine at the end of the visit. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to try some high-quality wines in the region.
