Tenuta Le Fracce was founded in Mairano di Casteggio in 1905 by Giulio Bussolera. In the 1950s, his son, the lawyer Fernando Bussolera, bought a residence at the foot of this hill, built in the 17th century as a monastery and, together with his wife Lina Branca, made it his home. Fernando added new vineyards, reaching 40 hectares of vines. He then added a park, creating a true vineyard with garden: 100 hectares of natural wonders.

Shortly before his death, the lawyer set up the Bussolera Branca Foundation, to which he left his entire estate, defining its aims: the conservation of the villa, the park and the collections, the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge also aimed at enhancing the agricultural heritage of the Oltrepò Pavese.

In 1999, oenologist Roberto Gerbino joined the company. Thanks to him, the activity of promotion and dissemination of knowledge in the field of viticulture carried out by the Bussolera Branca Foundation finds a real field of application.

Since 2015 Roberto, together with his friend Giorgio, has taken over the direct management of the winery, putting himself on the line in the first person. A choice of belonging and courage thanks to which Roberto has been able to transmit the philosophy of the Foundation and his own vision in the wines.
