The Vecchia Cantina Cooperative of Montepulciano, founded in 1937 from the dream of 14 pioneering winemakers, today consists of about 400 members who have chosen to work together with passion and respect for the territory, with the aim of guaranteeing quality products at a price accessible. Located on the outskirts of Montepulciano, the Montepulciano social winery has vineyards that extend over two regions (Tuscany and Umbria) and three provinces (Siena, Arezzo and Perugia). The headquarters houses the offices, warehouses, tanks for the storage of finished wines, the bottling line, a sales point and the splendid underground cellar of 2800 square meters.
The cooperative members are the beating heart of the Montepulciano winery and a team of agronomists and oenologists supports them throughout the entire production cycle and in product enhancement. The Vecchia Montepulciano winery offers years of experience in the sector and modern processing techniques.
On a total area of ??about 1000 hectares, several vines are cultivated, among which the Sangiovese stands out. Other varieties typical of the territory with red grapes are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, while the production of White and Vin Santo wines is obtained from Chardonnay, Grechetto, Trebbiano and Malvasia Bianca Lunga grapes. The most produced wine is the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, offered in different versions and of which the company is leader in terms of quantity produced.
The main objective of the Vecchia Cantina di Montepulciano is the optimization of the efforts made by the partners and collaborators in order to create wines of ever higher quality. For this reason, each brand is enhanced along with its history.
