Determination, strength and ardor. These are the feelings that guide the heroic winemakers in Valtellina, one of the most important viticultural areas of Lombardy.

Valtellina is the largest terraced area in Italy and presents a breathtaking landscape, shaped in 2,500 kilometers of terraces that are candidates for membership in Unesco as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The southern exposure, the favorable microclimate, the protection of the Alps and the breeze of Lake Como make Valtellina an oasis for viticulture. The land rich in biodiversity has allowed us to plant the vine successfully already in ancient times.

The traditions have remained unchanged: still today in the period of harvest in Valtellina, quintals of bunches of grapes are harvested by hand and carried in the baskets then taken to the cellar along steep paths and ladders.
 The typical grape variety of this region is Nebbiolo, locally called Chiavennasca, a native vine of the Valtellina.

L'esposizione a sud, il microclima favorevole, la protezione delle Alpi e la brezza del lago di Como rendono la Valtellina un'oasi per la viticoltura. Il terreno ricco di biodiversità ha permesso di piantare con successo la vite già nei tempi antichi.
 
Le tradizioni sono rimaste invariate: ancora oggi in periodo di vendemmia in Valtellina quintali di grappoli di uva vengono raccolti a mano e portati a spalla nelle gerle poi portati in cantina percorrendo ripidi sentieri e scalette.
 Il vitigno tipico di questa regione è il Nebbiolo, localmente chiamato Chiavennasca, vitigno autoctono della Valtellina.
